Dr. Govrin, the founder and president of G&G BIOTECHNOLOGY, and his team of engineers, chemists, biologists, research and development personnel, have successfully developed a lightweight breast implant for breast augmentation and breast reconstruction - B-LITE TM.
B-LITE TM technology makes it possible to use the desired implant volume or size, while reducing the weight of that same implant by more than 30%.
B-LITE TM technology significantly reduces the weight of the implant and the side effect associated with weight, while improving and maintaining the results achieved by breast augmentation and breast reconstruction procedures over time.
Dr. Govrin, a plastic surgery specialist with rich international experience performing breast procedures, says that women can now choose their desired breast (implant) size, but the lower weight of the implant will reduce gravitational stress on the breast and will help retain its shape and form in the long term. Dr. Govrin emphasizes how lightweight implants are a necessity nowadays and their importance in breast augmentation and reconstruction surgeries.
WeightSize
A woman’s breast experiences many significant changes over time. The breast grows during adolescence. It then goes through changes associated with menstruation. When gaining or losing weight, the breast becomes bigger or smaller, respectively. During pregnancy, the breast becomes very swollen. After giving birth, when a woman is lactating, it fills up with milk. After the lactation period ends, it shrinks in size and this pattern is repeated over future pregnancies and lactation periods. Over the course of a woman’s life, her breasts lose volume, and the skin becomes thinner and loose. The breast loses its vitality, with apparent signs of stress, combined with stretch marks, loss of volume and sagging. This all happens as a result of the biological, biochemical and metabolic changes that take place in every woman’s body, but they are all affected by the constant force of gravity or weight pulling the breast down and causing it to sag. Traditionally, it is common to associate the rate and severity at which these phenomena occur, especially sagging, loss of volume, flabbiness and stretch marks, as well as the orthopedic and neurological side effects often presenting with breasts, with the size of the breasts, but the truth is that these are all phenomena caused by, and become worse due to, the weight of the breasts. Remember, weight is the actual force pulling down on the body.
F = mg
The same is true of the breasts. The weight of the breast is the force pulling down on the breast, causing it to drop and sag. The heavier the breast, the bigger the force weighing down on it, and it does so throughout a woman’s entire life. Two things happen when an implant is inserted into a woman’s body during breast procedures. One, stress is applied to the tissues, and two, more weight is added to these tissues. Soft tissues, due to their biomechanical properties, their viscoelasticity, immediately react to the extra stress caused by the added size (volume) of the implant through stress-relaxation and creep. The stressed tissues, skin and muscle quickly
become slack and adjust to the applied stress. This is a fast, short and temporary process. From that moment on, only weight is an issue. From that moment on, the only forces at play are gravity and the strain caused by the weight of the breast and the implant. This means that while the effect size (volume) has on the breast is temporary and quickly diminishes, the weight of the implant constantly affects the breast. The constant force of gravity, continually putting stress and strain on a woman’s breasts, causes perpetual and continuous damage.
Implants actually act like a weight on the breasts, causing sagginess, flabbiness and loss of volume to happen even faster. The heavier the implant, the bigger its impact and the bigger the damage. The lightweight B-LITE TM implant – significantly reduces the weight of the implant and side effects associated with weight, while also improving and maintaining breast augmentation and reconstruction results over time.
The B-LITE TM implants are manufactured in Germany. The implants were developed using innovative technology, with materials commonly accepted and approved for use in medicine and industry for manufacturing implants. The implant comes in either an anatomically correct or round shape, several different height profiles and with a smooth or textured exterior.
The B-LITE TM implants successfully passed a long series of experiments under the strictest standards in the USA and Germany, and the technology implemented in the B-LITE TM implants has been granted ISO and CE quality assurance certification. Upon obtaining these certifications and after completing the custom registration procedures in Europe and Israel, many surgeons, including some of the most renowned plastic surgeons in the world, started using the B-LITE TM implants in their surgeries. The B-LITE TM implants are currently widely used in many countries, including Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Spain, England, Israel, South Africa, New Zealand, and more.
